01 — Measure a Ring You Already Own

How to measure the inside diameter of an existing ring
  1. Choose a ring that fits the same finger on the same hand comfortably.
  2. Place the ring on a flat surface.
  3. Using a digital caliper, measure the inside diameter in millimetres.
  4. Measure from one inner edge to the opposite inner edge.
  5. Repeat the measurement and compare it with our Indian ring size chart below.

Expert Tip: Measure only the empty inner space of the ring, not its outer edges. A professional ring sizer provides the most reliable result.

02 — Measure Your Finger at Home

Don't have an existing ring? You can estimate your finger circumference using a simple paper strip.

Step-by-step finger measurement using a paper strip and ruler
  1. Cut a narrow strip of non-stretch paper.
  2. Wrap it gently around the base of the finger where you intend to wear the ring.
  3. Mark the exact point where the paper overlaps.
  4. Straighten the paper and measure the marked length in millimetres.
  5. Repeat the measurement two or three times to check consistency.
  6. Compare your measurement with the finger circumference column in our chart.

Expert Tip: The paper should fit comfortably without being too tight. Ensure your chosen ring size can pass over your knuckle. This method gives an estimate rather than an exact measurement.

  • Wider bands may fit differently from narrower designs.
